Book Launch: Grace

On the 20th of February, the team of The Medusa was huddled inside the cozy warmth of Charlie Byrne’s bookshop (https://charliebyrne.ie) to listen to A.M. Shine present his new book: Grace.

Much like Shine’s previous bestselling novels, Grace is a captivating gothic horror thriller set in Ireland. The titular character, Grace, returns to the island of Croaghnakeela she was born on after receiving a mysterious phone call. The locals say there is an ancient evil on the island. Strange deaths occurred there decades ago, and no child has been born there in at least thirty years.

As Grace has no recollection of the place she came from, she returns to the island, where the ancient evil that plagued the place three decades before stirs once more.

While the rain pounded outside, Shine read a small, yet beautifully haunting passage to the audience. Evil crawled off the pages with his every word, and a warning was sent out to all attendees not to read this book past midnight, unless you have no intentions of sleeping, for it will haunt you.
